Adding a lot of character and winning attitude to the line up is Kelley Koehler from Zeek Interactive. Make sure to check her session “Bringing Order to Chaos: Agile Development” a this years camp.
Say hi to Kelley:
How long have you been working with WordPress and what first attracted you to it?
I started blogging on WordPress in 2007. I’d been writing on a proprietary blogging platform for half a year, and wanted to be in control of my own content and have more flexible display options. I had my own hosted server, so self-hosted WordPress was the best option.
What are your thoughts on the WordPress community as a whole, including WordCamps?
I’m a big fan of community and collaboration. Being involved in many BarCamps for the real estate industry brought about some incredible opportunity, both to help and to be helped. I love that WordCamp offer a similar sense of camaraderie and support.
Who in the WordPress community inspires you? Who do you follow?
I’m relatively new to the WordPress community, so I’m still meeting lots of people, figuring out who does what and where. I’m now stalking you all on Twitter. But in a totally non-creepy way. I’m nice, I promise.
What is the most exciting feature/addition/improvement to WordPress that you have noticed in the last year?
Combining MU into the main codebase was huge for me – I was an early MU user, and needed to make my MU site look and function the same as my standard WP install, which was difficult.
Where do you see WordPress 2 years from now?
I’m trusting that people much smarter than me are thinking about that. Watching WordPress grow over the past 4 years has been incredible. I trust the next 2 will continue to bring more functionality, more security, more flexibility.
