A man of few words unless he is speaking in code, Matt McInvale of BinaryM is going to be all over WordCamp San Diego. From his talk WordPress As A CMS to participating on the Development Panel to close out the day, you’re sure to learn something from this extraordinary WordPress developer.
With that said, here’s today’s Speaker Spotlight:
How long have you been working with WordPress and what first attracted you to it?
Sometime in late ’06 I was tasked with setting up a blog for a client. I had been hacking through Joomla & writing my own custom CMSs for the last couple of years and didn’t want to go that route for this project. I got their blog up and running without any trouble, so I started exploring what WP could really do.
After a couple of projects with WP I was hooked. Haven’t looked back since.
What are your thoughts on the WordPress community as a whole, including WordCamps?
All of my interactions with the community have been extremely positive. Everyone is very welcoming and shares their knowledge without any expectations. I try to do the same whenever I can.
Who in the WordPress community inspires you? Who do you follow?
What is the most exciting feature/addition/improvement to WordPress that you have noticed in the last year?
Hands down, custom post types, they allow us to do anything with WP.
Where do you see WordPress 2 years from now?
I dunno, internet?
