SAN DIEGO (May 20, 2011) – San Diego’s beaches and year-round sunshine draw visitors from all over the world, but this July San Diego will be a destination city for a different kind of visitor: the tech-savvy internet professional that is more likely to be toting their laptop bag than sunscreen.
WordCamp San Diego will take place on Saturday, July 16 at 8:00 a.m. at San Diego State University. The event will feature three separate tracks with speakers covering a variety of topics from using WordPress for web development to creating a successful blog.
“San Diego is home to a vibrant WordPress community. It will be a real treat to see that community come together in a big way in America’s finest city,” says co-organizer Steve Eisenberg.
WordCamp San Diego is a community-organized event that brings people together to share their experience with one of the most popular blogging platforms. WordPress has been used to power websites for CNN and the New York Times.
“WordPress is so much more than a platform, it’s a flourishing community. The most prominent example of that community are WordCamps. These bring developers, designers and end users together at a low cost, high impact event. Having traveled around the US for others, we had to be involved in San Diego’s first WordCamp. We are very excited to help bring this phenomenal event to San Diego,” says co-organizer and sponsor Chris Daley.”
Tickets are currently on sale for WordCamp San Diego at https://2011.sandiego.wordcamp.org/register.
