Chris Ford has been a part of the San Diego design community for the past 17 years. A graduate of City College’s graphic design program, she entered the workforce when the world was transitioning from CD-ROMs to the internet. As soon as a friend hooked her up with a 2400 bps modem and AOL 1.0, an immediate and lasting love affair began.
For 10 years Chris worked in some of San Diego’s premiere agencies, where she collaborated on projects for clients including Sony Pictures Studios, Wynn Hotels and Gateway Computers. After the dotcom crash, she went on to a freelance position as the Art Director of a popular line of scrapbooking idea books. She also art directed and branded an internationally distributed scrapbooking magazine, and created websites for several well-known children’s photographers and scrapbooking companies.
This long and winding road eventually led her to a company called “Revolution”, where she discovered the world of premium WordPress themes. Revolution evolved into StudioPress, who eventually released the Genesis theme framework.
Since then, Chris has been a staunch evangelist for the framework, developing solely for Genesis . She has created two themes (Family Tree and Bee Crafty) that are available exclusively through StudioPress. Chris is currently hard at work creating educational materials and makeover kits for Genesis themes designed to help you personalize your site.
She’s also dedicated to building a community of women and women-friendly designers, developers and other Genesis professionals who want to take Genesis to a whole new level.
