There are many factors that can slow down the loading of your website. In addition to that, you may be experiencing more than one issue that makes troubleshooting the problem difficult. In this talk I will go through every step of the process of loading a WordPress website and explain what may be causing slow loading times, and where to look for problems. Here are the steps of that process I will go through during my talk:

• First, the network requests, possible issues and what can you do about it
• The web server and reverse proxies – what are they, what can go wrong and how to find potential issues
• The calls to your database – how to find slow queries and what to do about it
• Rendering your content – are your pages optimal in size and content?
• Finally, your visitors – what to do with the minimal control you have over your visitors browsers

In addition to that, I will give some real life examples of sites I’ve done speed optimization work on and try to give you some useful tips and tricks on how to do that work easier and faster.
