About WordCamp San Diego

About

So, what is a WordCamp anyway?

WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.

(And if you didn’t already know, WordPress is the free and open source publishing software that powers over 30% of sites on the web.)

WordCamps are held in cities all over the world. This will be (we think) the 8th WordCamp that has been held in San Diego. Our WordCamp, just like most others, is organized by local folks who are passionate about WordPress, technology, and the community surrounding it.

San Diego’s local WordPress community has been going strong for over 10 years. In past years, our WordCamp has drawn many talented speakers, generous and innovative sponsors, and an enthusiastic and diverse group of attendees.

This year we are celebrating the rich history of Comic Con in San Diego, and we hope you join us for what is sure to be a super event!

Should I attend WordCamp San Diego?

Look, we’re the organizers of this event so we’ll readily admit our strong bias here, but YES! If you have even a small interest in WordPress, blogging, or technology, you should attend! You will learn a ton, meet and network with cool and interesting people, and you’ll even get a couple of lunches and a T-shirt out of the deal.

If you’re on the fence about attending and you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us so we can help you make a more informed decision.
